Gold fell from a record high on Monday, and silver recorded the biggest drop in a single day since December 2008 after news of killing of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in an operation led by the United States in Pakistan, described by the Reuters news agency.
The agency says in a report published just before the gold in the spot market dropped to about 1540 dollars per ounce (an ounce) after he scored earlier when a new record high of $ 1575.79.

And silver reached 45.12 dollars per ounce compared to 47.80 dollars after they landed earlier to about 43.04 dollars.
Oil prices have fallen and gold after news of killing of bin Laden, has lost some of the premium for the risks that have supported the prices of primary commodities while the dollar has recovered from the lowest level in three years, what the form of more pressure on gold, stock markets surged.
Silver fell 10% in the fastest decline since late 2008 affected recovery of the dollar.
While the beginning of gold fell by more than 5% after news of killing of bin Laden, traders expected gold to continue its upward trend because of the conditions of political and macroeconomic conditions.
Gold is still supported by concerns about the financial viability of some economies in the euro area, and the U.S. budget deficit and monetary policy easing severe in the United States.
Platinum and reached U.S. $ 1853.99 per ounce compared to U.S. $ 1864.25, while palladium hit 780.47 dollars an ounce against 789.35 dollars.
